Global demographic shifts are leading to a rapidly increasing population of elderly and people with disabilities, many of whom live independently, remain mobile, or receive care outside traditional clinical settings. Meeting their healthcare needs requires systems that are not only accessible and flexible, but also intelligent, interoperable, and seamlessly integrated across care environments and boarders.
Recent advances in healthcare and information technologies have accelerated research and innovation in integrated, patient-centred care models. Emerging digital solutions now enable personalized diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and supportโindependent of time or location. Technologies such as health analytics and informatics, large-scale data processing, Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems, machine learning, and high-performance computing are transforming disease prevention, diagnosis, management, and care delivery, while improving efficiency, quality, and patient outcomes.
This Special Track on Intelligent and Inclusive Digital Healthcare invites original contributions from researchers, practitioners, and policymakers addressing the design, development, evaluation, and deployment of information technologies for inclusive healthcare. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: pervasive, mobile, and ubiquitous healthcare systems; accessibility, usability, and user experience of medical applications and devices; human behaviour and human-centered design; integrated and coordinated care models; patient empowerment and self-management systems; pandemic-related healthcare technologies; eHealth data standards and interoperability (e.g., HL7/FHIR); regulatory frameworks for medical devices and clinical investigations (e.g. European Health Data Space); as well as privacy, security, and ethical considerations in digital healthcare.
