Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to significantly improve the lives of people with disabilities (PWD). Indeed, many cutting-edge AI systems, such as automatic speech recognition tools that can caption films for thedeaf and hard of hearing, or language prediction algorithms that can augment communication for persons with speech or cognitive disabilities, were developed with the motive of improving the lives of PWD. Recently, AI has become more widely used in higher education, in areas like admission, scoring, teaching, etc. However, these AI systems may not  consider the needs of students with disabilities, or worse, may actively discriminate against them.
The topics of the STS may include, but are not limited to:

• Risk assessment of using AI in higher education areas such as admission, scoring, teaching, etc.
• Bias in AI for PWD
• PWD and evaluation data
• User studies/user research
